Vegetarian and Vegan Diet Progress Report

       We have started going on our diets. We have finished our two weeks of vegetarian and are currently on our 5th day of being vegan. We have 1 week and 2 more days after being vegan, and after that, we will see how it is like to return to our normal diets again. Our experience overall has been pretty similar in the fact that it is hard to completely change our diets. We have both been struggling to stay away from the meat. We have learned that it takes a lot of discipline to uphold a new diet. We hope that our friends around us who have seen us going through this, realize that we are doing it to raise awareness. Lastly, over the past few weeks, we have been posting blog posts to give updates about our diets.

Today's update: (Day 6)

Eman-
       I did not have much of an appetite today. For breakfast I ate leftover spaghetti and pesto sauce. I skipped lunch and only ate some snacks like a bag of chips and strawberries. For dinner, I had lentil soup, beans, and brown rice. Recently, instead of drinking milk, I have been drinking orange juice.
Also, my blood pressure has been much lower than usual in the past few days.

Blood Pressure- 98/62 mmHg
Heart Rate-  75 bpm

Monica-
For breakfast I ate a carton of raspberries. For a snack, I had cucumbers, pickles, and carrots. For lunch I had a black bean vegan burger patty, some chickpeas, cucumbers, and a couple of pieces of bread. I also had some chocolate soy milk. For desert, I had a soy based vanilla ice cream. Today, O didn't have much of a problem with this diet because I actually prepared what I was going to eat.

Blood Pressure- 100/67 mmHg
Heart Rate- 91 bpm
